Hi there!!  I am Edith Pair, the owner of  “Mushroom House Tours”  and lifelong resident of Charlevoix, Mi.

I have cherished these beautiful stone structures for as long as I can remember and our family bought one of the 1st condos at the Weathervane Terrace back in the mid 70’s.  My father knew Earl Young and so you could say that I have grown up in a “Mushroom House” vibe.  I wanted share my love of these magical creations and provide an original, educational and fun tour for locals and visitors…..thus, the “Mushroom House Tours” was born!!

Starting strictly with walking tours in 2009, we soon realized that we needed to be able to use transportation and view ALL 28 houses.  I also wanted to make this an “experience” you can’t get anywhere else.  In 2016, we purchased our first 6 seat GEM car and the tours sprung to life. The GEM tours became a success virtually overnight!

I am SO proud to have been voted the “#1 Thing To Do” on Trip Advisor for Downtown Charlevoix and the ONLY Gem car tour company in Northern Michigan.  We provide a personalized, historical tour with a twist and the first company to sell all “Made in Michigan” souvenirs……mostly designed by yours truly.  We recently won the “Tourism Excellence” award in 2021 and the “Best of Charlevoix” for the past 3 years running, putting us into their “Hall of Fame.”

In addition to the guided tours, we now offer a voice prompted Virtual Tour for $10 and is FREE for everyone taking the guided tour.  This provides a great way to re-live the experience long after you have left town or, a way to see and hear about the houses if you want to do the tour on your own.
